Full Moon August 2014 and a simple ritual

on August 10, 2014

I don’t know what it is about the Full Moon in August but it has always been one of my favorites, perhaps for me its the time of the season that I begin to dry herbs, and prepare the garden beds for any fall planting. Tonight  I have new crystals ready to bask in the moon light before I begin crafting them into new creations.

Tonight I will also be performing this short ritual with some friends:

Stand outside in the glowing disc of the moon, surrounding you in a protective circle of light. Stand and raise your arms above your head. Let your palms face each other and curve slightly toward the moon. Feel as though you’re a sacred chalice, drawing the power of the Great Mother into every cell of your being filling you with Vibrant energy and the purity of spirit.

Then perform a simple releasing ritual

Light a white candle,  Light a stick of incense sage, frankincense or lavender.

Take a few deep slow breaths and ask your inner guidance for clarity-then begin to write down on paper what you wish to release from your life, what no longer serves you, what you would like to be free from.

When you finish writing, sign it with the day’s date and your signature.Take a moment to hold to your heart for the clearest intention, then burn it, watching the smoke rise to the universe taking your intentions with it.
A Few Simple things to do during the Full Moon

  1. cleanse your crystals
  2. make essences
  3. sit under the full moon as you would in the sun
  4. allow yourself to do some journal keep or automatic writing.
